(The Wolf Boy’s part)
Took a boat into the Ocean,
but ended swept up in a storm.
The vessel tumbled while in motion,
now I’m lost and all forlorn.
Riding on the waves,
as they rhythmically crash and break.
On a life raft for many days,
unable to make but one mistake.
~
The turquoise seas,
and the ocean breeze-
almost make me feel at ease.
But, the salt dries out my skin,
and I’m circled by an ominous fin.
~
Out at sea for a whole week,
without, but one fish to eat.
Running out of saltless water,
and the sun burns even hotter.
Yet out there in the distance,
I see some land at hand!
and I flow towards the beach,
with a strong tides assistance.
(Sarika’s Part)
Overwhelmed at the sight of land…
a fleck of light in the dark…
To rest my feet upon the sand…
the yonder journey, I embark…
~
Braving the feral gale…
Battling the savage waves…
Stalwartly, I sail…
to escape the sea’s vicious embrace…
~
Soul throbbing and heart-pounding,
with rapture abound…
As I finally touch the shore and
crumble to the ground…
~
I feel the warm breeze, stand firm and
the new journey, I begin…
With the remnants of the sea
still latching to my skin…
And the ghastly ordeal engraved
forever on my conscience…
Thank You
Thanks so much to Sarika for this awesome collaboration! She’s a talented poet and a very sweet person. If you’re unfamiliar with her work please give her a visit. You won’t regret it 🙂
Beautiful !!!
From the shore, the Ocean looks most amazing and beautiful but when we are into it, that when we realize the harshness of this beauty.
Your poetry beautifully highlight this fact in the second verse- “the turquoise sea…

❤ Thanks for your comment. I’m terrified of the Ocean myself.

That’s true for most of the people. OCEAN is a mystery.

Nice mix, but I could see the difference styles for sure.😊

Absolutely, but artistry should never be a melting pot. That’s why I never like to MIX the styles really. I feel like each artist has to be true to themselves. Thanks for the comment and the read 😀

What a wonderful collabs! You and Sarika made a good team. This was exciting to read, like a fiction told from a lost sailor. You’re voices are different yet compliments one another. ❤
