Back Turning the Gears

Hello, wolf cubs,

I know it’s been a long while and any of my past followers are probably fed up with the fact that I’ve announced I’d be returning in the past and shortly after disappeared again. This has happened many times for me over the past few years, and why is that?

Well, I think my past approach to blogging was a little bit too perfectionist and long-form. But, recently I was inspired by someone who I was listening to in a podcast and they were talking about how they write every single day–just about 200 words–and that struck me as something that I could do.

Let me introduce myself, or re-introduce myself to anyone unfamiliar, my pen name is Mathew Wulf Aurelia. I am a third-year Philosophy major, currently in the process of completing my degree; I’m an adult student, and I’ve just recently turned 33 years old; I’m also a Dad with a beautiful 3-year-old girl. Aside from all of this, I’m intrigued and fascinated by science fiction, I love blockchain technology and technology in general; I also love to write – hence why I’m here.

If any of my old friends read this, please feel free to drop a comment and say hello. I hope you’re all doing well out there, and I’m sorry that I’ve left you for so long!

Take care everyone and much love to you all.

    1. Great to hear from you too! I’m sending the warm wishes right back at you, and hoping all of that COVID business is settling down in your hospitals over there.

  1. Hey Matt!!! So good to see you again! You have a lot on your plate between your studies and family, so I think we all understand why you aren’t around much, but I always enjoy seeing that you have posted. I recently took a 3-month hiatus due to serious illness, and I’m just now getting back up to speed. Take care of you, my friend … we’ll still be here when you have time for a few words!

    1. Hey Jill! Uh-oh! I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been having some health issues. I hope you find some relief from this in due time. I’ll have to check your blog out again soon enough. I imagine you have a lot less to write about now that Trump is out of office. Hahah!

      1. Thanks, Matt! Well, I am 70 years old, after all, and I’ve LIVED life, rather than sitting on the sidelines watching it pass me by, so I suppose it should come as no surprise that the heart is finally giving out. I have been back to writing for a few weeks now and most days manage 2 posts a day. Yeah, you’d think I have less to write about, but there is as much as ever, with the Republican Party catering to Trump and him threatening to run again in 2024, which would certainly, without any doubt, be the end of the U.S. as we know it. Glad to see you blogging, if only occasionally! 🐺

      2. Oh god, I don’t even want to think of that scenario -.- The 4 years prior already felt like it killed me. Although the Liberal party in Canada looks like it is taking a lot of heat and we are likely to have a conservative leadership again next election, although I’d prefer NDP. I hope you have many years left to go ❤

  2. Hi Mathew, you are not the only one who comes and disappears, I also am same, but yes it’s good to know that you asked for old friends to drop a message. I hope we see more of each others blog more often. More power to you.

    1. Nice to hear from you Nilesh. Hope you’re doing well. Life is quite the rollercoaster, right? It’s hard to keep up a blogging routine sometimes. Take care!
